The medical industry (a good term for it BTW) does not care about the people they "care" for and certainly not for the animals they kill in the name of medicine.
On the other hand, most people don't care about animals (or anything but themselves) at all. So this is not surprising.
The other reason doctors don't say is so that they can maintain their facade of being knowledgeable. The less they tell you, the more ignorant you are and the more dependent you are on them. Truth is, most medical Dr.s don't know anything but what the textbook says (I can read, can I be a Dr. too?). Hence they parrot without question the current "accepted medical practice" spouted by the AMA (American Medical Association) which is essentially a front for corporate interests.
What gets me is how laws conveniently ignore money-making aspects of society. For example, the US actually has cruelty to animal laws. Yet they don't apply for many things such as "medical research". Also environmental pollutant bans conveniently ignore oil and gas - the main polluters of the environment. You can't have an open fire in my state, but you sure can run a gas guzzling SUV/Truck to take the junk away to the landfill.
