Healthy eating: Go veggie

Around 1,000 people all over the UAE have taken a health pledge to be vegetarian for one week.

This is part of the Meveg festival – a first of its kind event organised by a group of volunteers and supported by the Health

Ministry to encourage people to go green and eat more veggies.

As an incentive, 23 Choithram outlets and over a dozen restaurants will offer discounts on green foodstuff for people who take up the pledge to be vegetarian for seven days. The UAE Meveg festival will end on June 7.
