Influencing Christians to be Vegan

Influencing Christians to be Vegan

No matter what your religious orientation is or if you are agnostic, or atheist we need to out-reach to the Christian community about veganism and how it applies to their religion. About 86% of Americans are Christian. Most Christians believe God created animals for our use. They use biblical passages to justify their exploitation and murder of animals.

You do not have to be a Christian to do this and it is so easy and effective! Lori Peterson arrange a leafleting at the Basillica Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN. She contacted the church to politely notify them about the leafleting and also send them the material we were going to distribute. We passed out 200 "What Would Jesus Eat ...Today" by the Christian Vegetarian Association available at www.christianveg.com and 300 "Christianity and Vegetarianism" written by John Dear who is a Catholic priest available at PETA www.jesusveg.com This only took us a couple of hours and about three-fourths of the church going people took literature. Animal Activists in MN are planning to leaflet at more churches. Think about how many more people we could reach about veganism if we could encourage more activists to engage in this type of out-reach!

I also do a lot of tabling and displays about Veganism. I always have information about Christianity and Vegetarianism available and this information flies off the table. Again, you do not need to believe in Christianity, but realize as an animal activist how important this material is to help influence Christians to become vegan.

If you do have religious indifference please but them aside for the animals and take the opportunity to educate Christians; why veganism does apply to their religion. Remember: What to we want? Animal Liberation Now! Go out there and educate the religious folks!

Thank-you!
