McDonalds to pay $10 million in French fries case

Contributed by sylvan

CNN is reporting that McDonalds has agreed to pay $10 million US as part of a settlement in a case brought last year by a Seattle lawyer on behalf of vegetarian and Hindu groups. As part of the settlement, McDonalds has issued an apology to vegetarians & Hindus, and will be creating a new advisory panel on vegetarian and diet issues in its restaurants. McDonalds had announced years ago that their fries were cooked in vegetable oil, but failed to inform customers that they used beef based flavoring. Personal comment: Vegetarians shouldn't be eating at McDonalds anyways; but its good to see them being held responsible for misleading customers

They also apologized. But $10 M is a drop in the bucket for these animal killers. I only hope the money will be used to convert more people away from eating there.
